A Pastry Cook II works under the supervision of the Pastry Lead and Pastry Chef but must possess the ability to work independently.

  • Utilize standardized recipes to prepare daily preparation requirements, maintain par levels of necessary items
  • Ability to create daily production lists
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Develop new menu items under the direction of a supervisor
  • Ensure attractive and consistent presentation of food items, both buffet and plated
  • Interact with other pastry cooks to monitor quality, presentation and consistency of food items prepared
  • Handle all needs and accommodate customer requests in a timely manner
  • Set up, restock, maintain and clean pastry department
  • Responsible to ensure presentation standards are met for all items
  • Read and interpret recipes
  • Assist with product inventories
  • Responsible for team maintenance of grooming standards
  • Responsible for team adherence to standards for sanitation and safe food handling
  • Responsible for all opening and/or closing kitchen procedures

What You Bring:

  • Previous baking experience or professional pastry education required
  • Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos,
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to other employees
  • Must possess knife skills and the ability to adjust preparations for flavor
