Oribu Restaurant, the brand-new, design-forward dining destination inside the Grand Hyatt Washington, is looking for a creative Pastry Cook to join our opening team. This is your chance to be part of something fresh-building a standout dessert program from day one in a high-energy, elevated lunch and dinner concept. We're seeking someone who's equal parts artist and technician, with a love for bold flavors, beautiful presentation, and pushing classic pastry into modern territory. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen and want your work to make a statement, we'd love to meet you. We are looking for someone that has flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
The hourly rate for this position is $23.22, increasing to $26.08 after six months.
Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare all food and baked items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set
  • Ensure all ingredients are in stock and communicate ordering needs
  • Understand and complete requisition sheets
  • Demonstrate a high level of cleanliness in workstation and appearance
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers/freezers, and storage areas
  • Watch for and identify spoilage in product
  • Keep accurate temperature records
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
