Job description

The Pastry Cook III supports the Pastry Chef in the oversight and preparation of all breads and baked goods required by the resort’s Food & Beverage operations. This position plays a key role in upholding the high-quality standards of Sun Valley’s culinary program, particularly in our banquet and catering services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily preparation and/or prepare all desserts and baked goods from start to finish using established resort's recipes, and maintain the proper hygiene and safety standards
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate the pastry team on shift to ensure adherence to the resort's standards in a positive environment
  • Help monitor inventory, supplies, and appropriate storage
  • Conduct daily tasting and monitor presentation to uphold resort's standards
  • Assist in developing new recipes and menu items
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper function of all kitchen/ bakery appliances and equipment used to prepare dishes.
  • Ensure adequate supplies of all raw materials needed to prepare baked goods and dessert items.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
  • While performing the duties of this job's responsibilities, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
  • Must safely move objects up to approximately 50 pounds about the workplace

Experience:

  • 3 years minimum in a high volume pastry shop or hotel
