Current Anticipated Hours/Work Location:

  • Work Schedule: Schedule varies based on event needs
    • Work schedule may need to fluctuate based on University-wide events, and academic breaks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and bakes ingredients to produce breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, or other baked goods in accordance with established standards and recipes
  • Assists with daily kitchen functions such as preparing hot and cold food and providing customer service
  • Provides ongoing input into the creation of new recipes and menu items
  • Ensures all prepared food is satisfactory in quality and quantity prepared and served and stored at proper temperatures and times
  • Cleans cooking utensils, grills, ovens, hoods, and other kitchen equipment
  • Assists with special projects and provides support where needed to meet production schedules and demands
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of culinary environments, techniques, and standards
  • Knowledge of allergens, food sensitivities and dietetic restrictions
  • Skill in time management, organization, and multi-tasking
  • Ability to use basic mathematical/measuring to follow or scale recipes
  • Ability to follow New York State, Monroe County, and university health codes as they relate to health, sanitation, and safety
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service

Minimum Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
