A Vision of this Ministry

Aquinas Catholic Community School is a growing, vibrant, diverse, multi-cultural Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade educational community that forms disciples of Christ through the practice of faith and the pursuit of knowledge. The school is looking for an Interim Principal, hereafter called Principal, who will fill this role for this school year while engaging in a more comprehensive search. The Principal collaborates closely with the Pastor, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Big Shoulders Fund, and with certain other members of the Parish and Diocese, both certain paid staff and volunteers, in this mission of growing Catholic discipleship. The Principal fulfills this mission by serving as the spiritual, academic, and managerial leader of the parish school.  The Principal is charged with the implementation of the philosophy, mission, and objectives, of the Catholic Church in the overall management of the school. The Principal is responsible for the professional effectiveness of the staff, the educational progress of the students, as well as the relationships within the school, with parents, and the surrounding community. The Principal will collaborate with neighboring parishes, schools, and the Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools, implementing guidelines outlined in the Diocese of Gary Administrator's Handbook and Employee Handbook.
