Position Overview

University Christian Church, located in Muncie, IN, is seeking a Lead Pastor to serve after the retirement of the current pastor. The successful candidate will lead the congregation from 2026 through 2027 and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Provide vision and leadership to the congregation
  • Prepare and preach biblically‑based sermons (40–45 times per year)
  • Help provide ministries and strategies that lead non‑Christians to Christ
  • Help provide ministries and strategies that disciple Christians toward growth in Christ
  • Lead, shepherd, and develop the church staff in a collaborative culture
  • Conduct weddings and funerals
  • Complete other responsibilities assigned by the Elders
Qualifications

  • At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree from a Restoration Movement college or seminary
  • Agreement with the ideals and doctrine embraced within Christian Churches/Churches of Christ
