Job description

Job Title: Inside Sales Representative
Department: Inside Sales
Reports to: Branch Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
The inside sales representative will work cooperatively with outside sales, counter sales and other members of the team to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while providing great customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Sells based on Tidewater Fleet Supply/TNT Parts value proposition by identifying key growth opportunities product and services offerings.
  • Generate new and repeat sales by educating customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as providing pricing or quotes, taking orders or managing returns.
  • Proactively recommend items needed by the customer to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
  • Service existing accounts and communicate with clients on a regular basis. Discuss use and features of various parts.
  • Coordinate parts and with the appropriate personnel. Advise counter person on delivery instructions. Assist with counter sales when necessary.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from customers.
  • Locate and obtain parts.
  • Process buyouts for non-stocked parts.
  • Keep counter and parts room neat and clean.
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items.
  • Work with walk-in customers regarding questions on orders, quotes and/or job specifications
  • Maintain active and proactive customer relationship to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
  • Manage Accounts in the CRM system.
  • Update account profiles in CRM annually for contact info and sales potential.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel as required.

  • Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier.
  • Appropriate manufacturer training.
  • Expertise in the heavy duty or automotive aftermarket is highly valued, along with a positive attitude and a passion for customer service.
  • Some travel may be required

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' inside sales experience
