Sales Manager
Tom Wood Volkswagen - 96th Street | Carmel, IN
Position Summary
Tom Wood Volkswagen is seeking an experienced, results-oriented Sales Manager to lead our sales team at our 96th Street dealership in Carmel, IN. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sales performance, developing talent, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a proven automotive leader who enjoys coaching, desking deals, building customer relationships, and creating a culture of accountability and success. As a member of the dealership leadership team, you'll work closely with the General Manager and Finance team to achieve sales objectives while maintaining the high standards our customers expect from the Tom Wood brand.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team focused on customer satisfaction and sales excellence.
  • Desk deals, structure transactions, and assist sales consultants throughout the sales process.
  • Partner with dealership leadership to achieve monthly and annual sales, gross profit, and CSI objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop future sales leaders within the organization.
  • Monitor dealership performance, conversion rates, and key sales metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure outstanding customer experiences while maintaining strong manufacturer and dealership CSI scores.
  • Assist with new and pre-owned inventory management, pricing strategy, merchandising, and vehicle turn.
  • Maintain compliance with Volkswagen programs, dealership policies, and ethical sales practices.
  • Foster a positive, energetic showroom culture centered around teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence on the showroom floor and support the team during peak business hours.
