Description
The Operations Manager at Astral Health & Beauty is responsible for leading the company's end-to-end operations strategy across order management, inventory, logistics, distribution, quality, and third-party logistics partnerships. This role will drive operational excellence, strengthen scalable processes, improve cost efficiency, and support the company's continued growth across direct-to-consumer, retail, e-commerce, international, and business-to-business channels. The Director will bring strong strategic leadership, hands-on operational expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset to help ensure Astral delivers products accurately, efficiently, and with the high-quality standards our customers expect. This position reports directly to the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management:
  • Partner with the 3PL provider and internal teams to execute effective inventory control strategies that optimize stock levels, reduce carrying costs, prevent stockouts, and maintain product freshness, quality, and availability.

Logistics and Distribution:
  • Oversee logistics operations, including 3PL warehousing, transportation, distribution, and fulfillment performance, to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery to customers and retail partners.

Technology Integration:
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement operational technologies, ERP capabilities, EDI processes, and supply chain systems that improve visibility, accuracy, reporting, and overall efficiency.

Quality Control and Assurance:
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce quality standards across the supply chain, partnering cross-functionally to maintain product integrity and operational consistency.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to help ensure products and operational processes comply with applicable industry regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards.

Order Management:
  • Oversee the sales order management process to ensure accurate, timely fulfillment across multiple order types, including DTC, B2B, international, retail, and drop ship.
  • Manage EDI processes, including onboarding new trading partners, monitoring transaction flow, troubleshooting issues, and improving order accuracy.
  • Partner with the 3PL provider and Operations team to review retailer and e-tailer chargebacks, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce future deductions.

Process Improvement and Cost Control:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements across operations and the supply chain.
  • Manage operational budgets, track key performance indicators, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and optimize resources while maintaining service levels and quality.

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, operational discipline, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive operations, supply chain, logistics, order management, or distribution experience, preferably within the health and beauty, c onsumer goods, retail, or e-commerce industries.
  • Proven leadership experience optimizing supply chain and operations functions, improving service levels, reducing costs, and scaling processes to support business growth.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, third-party logistics management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Expertise in demand planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution strategies.
  • Experience with ERP systems, EDI platforms, warehouse management systems, reporting tools, and supply chain software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, project management, and strategic decision-making abilities.
