Job description

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Are you passionate about solving complex problems to maximize America's warfighting capabilities? Do you want to integrate Air, Space, Surface, Ground, Undersea, and Cyber warfare domains using state-of-the-art software and computing? Are you looking to apply your operations analysis expertise in a collaborative, inquisitive environment where your work directly impacts U.S. national security?

If so, consider joining the General Dynamics Mission Systems team. We want innovators who will leverage their operations analysis background to expand capabilities at the leading edge of technology.

As an Operations Analyst, you will:

  • Identify patterns and trends within battlefield environments to analyze interacting sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems across multi-domain, mission-level operations — translating observations into actionable insights that inform approaches and support decision-making
  • Collaborate with domain and technology experts to determine how to most effectively integrate key enablers and effects in a multi-domain environment, including trend discovery, risk assessment, options analysis, and documentation of uncertainties
  • Present analyses through white papers, briefings, and presentations to both technical specialists and senior decision-makers

Qualifications:

  • PhD or MS in a technical or scientific field (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related) with 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience working within Special Access communities, particularly developing or integrating systems across Air, Space, Surface, Ground, Undersea, or Cyber warfare domains is highly preferred
  • Experience with modeling and simulation frameworks such as AFSIM for multi-domain, mission-level analysis is highly desired
  • Understanding of military operations, tactics, strategies, and trade-off considerations, including at the Combatant Command level
  • Experience leading teams, managing workflow and workload balancing, and supporting internal/external engagements
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience authoring materials and presenting complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex to accelerate analysis, modeling, and rapid prototyping is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required

Additional experience in the following areas is a plus:

  • Experience designing and conducting analytical wargames — including automated, LLM-driven, and tabletop formats — to explore strategy, force structure, and capability trade-offs
  • Familiarity with Counter-UAS (C-UAS) operations, technologies, and threat analysis
  • Experience supporting Homeland Security missions, including border and critical infrastructure defense
