The College invites applications for a Director of Partner Engagement at The Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch Center for Career Exploration. For virtually all Brown students, making connections and building relationships with members of the Brown alumni and family community and with employer partners is an essential part of the career exploration and discovery process. These connections can help students obtain internship and job opportunities, initiate short and long-term mentoring relationships, and develop professional skills and insider knowledge for specific career pathways.
The Center works in collaboration with departments across campus to connect students with Brown's rich array of career resources. We are a highly creative and dedicated team committed to help students build confidence, explore career possibilities, and develop impactful connections. We leverage our relationships within and beyond the Brown community to facilitate meaningful experiences, mentoring connections and partnerships that position students for purposeful work throughout their professional lives. Responsibilities:
As the leader of the Partner Engagement team, the Director of Partner Engagement will be responsible for overseeing the development of networks that engage alumni, family, and employer partners in career-related activities that directly support student career exploration and outcomes. This includes recruiting partnerships and activities (on and away from campus) and managing the Center's key employer relationships. The incumbent will work closely with colleagues in the Alumni Relations and Advancement offices to build a highly collaborative Partner Engagement program with shared goals, processes, and systems for alumni, family and employer engagement. This includes both strategic and operational oversight of the BrownConnect+ platform. This position will oversee a team of professional staff and will serve on the leadership team at the Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch Center for Career Exploration.
Major Responsibilities
  • In partnership with Alumni Relations and Advancement, provide strategic leadership for the developing and sustaining an active career volunteer network of alumni, parent, and family partners.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employer partnership program, leading a team of professional staff (~5-6 FTEs).
  • Support new and existing Center initiatives and other College priorities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in career services or in alumni relations/advancement, or other directly relevant experience. Experience managing staff or otherwise demonstrated capacity to supervise.
  • Experience in alumni relations and volunteer management activities; demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key alumni leaders.
  • Experience developing and collaboratively managing volunteer networks at a University or non-profit organization.
  • Experience managing employer relationships in a recruiting context, or directly overseeing a recruiting program within a career center or for corporate, non-profit, or governmental entity.
  • Experience in academic program administration, including planning and development, implementation, and assessment, as well as budget management and operational oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and mobilize others (staff, faculty, students) to achieve shared results.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, discretion, sound judgment, and leadership skills.
  • Comfort working with technology such as career services management platforms and peer to peer or student to alumni networking platforms. Proficient with technology tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
