About the Role

Watermark Restoration LLC, doing business as RestoPros of Columbus-Dayton, is seeking a motivated, relationship focused Business Development Representative to generate new sales opportunities and expand our referral partner network in the Dayton region.

This is a high impact, entry level opportunity focused on building and maintaining relationships with plumbers, property managers, insurance agents, contractors, real estate agents, commercial property contacts, and other key decision makers who can generate consistent mitigation and restoration project leads.

The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate or early career professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well independently, enjoys meeting new people, and understands the importance of professional follow up. This position offers a competitive base salary plus monthly performance bonus opportunities with significant upside for top performers.

Role Purpose

The Business Development Representative is responsible for growing revenue in the Dayton market by developing referral relationships, generating qualified opportunities, supporting customer communication, and representing RestoPros of Columbus-Dayton with professionalism and care. This role is expected to help create trust before a loss occurs and confidence when a customer needs us most.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Development and Sales Growth

  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing referral sources throughout the Dayton region.
  • Actively prospect within target industries, including plumbing, property management, insurance, construction, real estate, and commercial facilities.
  • Schedule and attend meetings, presentations, association events, trade shows, community events, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and generate sales opportunities.
  • Represent RestoPros professionally with referral partners, customers, industry contacts, and community stakeholders.
  • Consistently follow up with leads and referral partners to encourage ongoing engagement, loyalty, and repeat referrals.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations tailored to specific audiences to demonstrate RestoPros services, capabilities, and customer care philosophy.

Lead Handling and Customer Support

  • Receive qualified leads from referral sources, marketing efforts, or direct customer contact.
  • Meet with customers when appropriate, explain the RestoPros process, present available solutions, and help secure signed work authorizations.
  • Communicate with customers in a calm, professional, and helpful manner during stressful property damage situations.
  • Coordinate with operations and project management team members to ensure customer needs are understood and addressed promptly.
  • Support follow up communication with customers and referral partners after jobs are completed.

CRM, Reporting, and Team Coordination

  • Maintain accurate and current records in the company CRM or tracking system, including contacts, call reports, meeting notes, lead status, referral activity, and next steps.
  • Collaborate with operations and project management teams to keep referral partners informed about project status and customer satisfaction when appropriate.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and provide detailed updates on activities, pipeline, referral partner activity, and results.
  • Track new referral partner development and help identify opportunities for stronger market penetration in the Dayton region.
  • Communicate clearly with company leadership regarding sales opportunities, customer concerns, market feedback, and competitive activity.

Qualifications

  • Relevant education, prior work, customer service, or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Experience in restoration, construction, plumbing, HVAC, insurance, property management, real estate, facilities services, or related industries is helpful but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting to individuals and groups.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to work toward measurable activity and sales goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, mobile technology, and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected to the larger team.
  • Valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to travel locally across the Dayton market starting at 7:00 am.
  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent driving throughout the assigned Dayton market.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during events, trade shows, presentations, and referral partner visits.
  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 40 pounds, including event materials, displays, supplies, and marketing items.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboarding, mobile device use, and CRM activity.
  • Ability to walk job sites and meet customers or referral partners in residential, commercial, and field environments.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a base salary plus monthly commission structure designed to reward revenue growth, referral development, and consistent execution in the Dayton market.

Base Salary: $50,000 annually.

Monthly Commission Structure

The Business Development Representative will be eligible for a monthly performance bonus based on sales revenue from qualifying Dayton market jobs.

Monthly Commission Schedule

Sales Less than $50,000 = $0

Sales between $50,000 to $59,999 = $1,000

Sales between $60,000 to $69,999 = $2,000

Sales between $70,000 to $79,999 = $3,000

Sales between $80,000 to $89,999 = $4,000

Sales between $90,000 to $99,999 = $5,000

Sales between $100,000 to $109,999 = $6,000

Sales of $110,000 or more = $6,500

Total Compensation Expectation

RestoPros has a proven track record with and established referral partner network that the Business Development Representative is assuming. RestoPros has set realistic and achievable performance expectations for the position and with the right focus on developing referral partner relationships, a successful Business Development Representative (BDR) should expect first year earnings between $74,000 and $110,000. After the first year on the job, a successful BDR should expect earnings between $100,000 and $125,000.

This position will follow a rotational on-call schedule for night and weekend emergency response.
