Role Summary

The Organization Development (OD) Manager is a key position within T. Rowe Price's Talent Management & Organizational Effectiveness team responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance our organizational effectiveness capabilities to drive business results. If you are an innovative professional with experience with organization design methodology, proven experience facilitating senior leadership teams, and a track record of delivering impactful organizational change we want to hear from you! 

As OD Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and senior leaders, helping them navigate organizational challenges and optimize team performance.  You will partner with key stakeholders to drive organizational effectiveness through strategic design, team development, and change initiatives across our enterprise. This role sits at the intersection of organizational strategy and execution, requiring a seasoned practitioner who can translate complex business needs into practical organizational solutions.   

This position offers the opportunity to support transformative initiatives that directly impact business performance and organizational health. The role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, demonstrate sophisticated relationship management skills, and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics with ease.

Success in this role requires not only technical expertise in OD methodologies but also strong business acumen, political savvy, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. The consultant will need to seamlessly integrate into existing HR partnerships while establishing themselves as a credible expert voice in organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Organization Design & Operating Model

  • Lead end-to-end organization design projects for multiple business units
  • Conduct organizational assessments to identify structural opportunities and challenges
  • Design and facilitate working sessions with senior leaders to develop and refine organizational solutions
  • Create detailed implementation plans for organizational changes
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to execute organizational transitions

Team Effectiveness Root Cause Diagnostics & Interventions

  • Design and facilitate leadership team effectiveness sessions
  • Conduct comprehensive team diagnostics using multiple methods (interviews, assessments, observations)
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying team dynamics and systemic issues
  • Create data-driven insights through synthesis of quantitative and qualitative information
  • Design targeted interventions based on diagnostic findings
  • Facilitate team alignment sessions and conflict resolution
  • Develop measurement approaches to track team progress
  • Coach leaders and teams through behavioral changes
  • Build team capability through skill-building workshops and development planning
  • Guide teams in establishing new ways of working and team operating norms

HR Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong collaborative relationships with HR Business Partners to ensure aligned approach
  • Partner with HRBPs to understand business context and priorities
  • Provide OD expertise and consultation to the HR community
  • Co-create solutions with HR partners that integrate talent and organizational priorities
  • Maintain regular communication channels with key stakeholders
  • Navigate complex organizational dynamics and competing priorities
  • Influence across multiple stakeholder groups without direct authority

Change Management & Strategy

  • In partnership with our Transformation Office, design change management approaches for complex organizational initiatives
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop strategic communications
  • Guide leaders through change implementation
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions and workshops

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field or the equivalent combination of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of experience in organizational development, with significant focus on org design, change management and strategic planning.
  • Advanced facilitation and consultation skills
  • Strong project management skills, from concept to planning to implementation and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise leaders in a client-facing or consulting role

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Organizational Psychology, Business or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in organizational development, with significant focus on org design.
  • Expertise in multiple organization design methodologies and frameworks
  • Prior experience in the Financial Services and/or Consulting Industry
  • Experience at a senior level in a corporate HR/OD setting
  • Certified in Hogan Personality Inventory
  • Demonstrated success utilizing full range of organization development interventions and change management frameworks and applications
  • Proven track record of identifying root causes of problems and implementing solutions to achieve desired outcomes

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home. This role can be based in our Baltimore office location or based in our DC office with required occasional travel to Baltimore.
