This role is focused on developing and strengthening relationships with prospective and existing customers, creating long-term opportunities through consistent engagement, presenting tailored solutions and achieving sales goals.ย 

This role demands excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, along with a relationship mindset.ย 

Our sales cycle is relationship-based and can be extensive. Success in this role comes from trust, credibility, and maintaining a strong presence in the markets we serve.

What You'll Do

Relationship Development (Primary Focus)

  • Identify potential customers through networking, research, referrals or inquiries and build/maintain relationships with prospects and existing customersย 
  • Engage consistently through outreach, follow-up, and in-person interactionย 
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and challenges and present products/services to meet those needs - highlighting key benefits and value

Territory Engagement & Travel

  • Present a professional and friendly demeanor that properly reflects BMS as you travel regularly throughout North Carolina, and South Carolina, with additional visits in Virginia as needed.ย ย 
  • Visit customer locations and maintain a consistent presence in key markets - scheduling calls and visits using the CRM for tracking of all touchpoints.ย ย 
  • Represent BMS in meetings, site visits, and day-to-day interactionsย

Conference & Event Engagement

  • Identify, attend, and actively participate in industry conferences and association eventsย 
  • Research and provide new conference positioning to the team for review
  • Build relationships with decision-makers in municipal and related sectorsย 
  • Leverage events to generate new opportunities and strengthen existing relationshipsย 
  • Coordinate with internal teams to maximize BMS's presence and follow-up - using the CRM.

  • Manage and maintain an active pipeline in CRM (Monday.com)ย
