Job description

Access Begins with Relationships.

Mental healthcare changes lives, but only when patients can find the right provider.

Patients choose one because someone they trustpoints them in the right direction.

At My Psychiatrist, we’re building trusted relationships throughout the communities we serve.

As our Business Development Manager, you’ll represent a physician-led organization committed to clinical excellence, operational integrity, and exceptional patient care.

You’ll develop lasting partnerships with physicians, therapists, hospitals, employers, schools, and community organizations—helping more people access the behavioral healthcare they need while strengthening one of Florida’s most respected mental health networks.

If you enjoy building relationships with purpose, creating opportunities through trust, and making a measurable impact across your community, you’ll find meaningful work here.

The Why Behind the Role

Exceptional care only changes lives when people can access it.

That’s why this role exists.

As our Business Development Manager, you’ll build trusted partnerships that connect physicians, healthcare organizations, employers, schools, and community leaders with a behavioral health partner they can confidently recommend.

Every relationship you build expands access to care—and strengthens the communities we serve.

The Role

As the Business Development Manager for South Miami and Miami-Dade County, you’ll serve as the market leader responsible for expanding My Psychiatrist’s presence throughout one of Florida’s most dynamic healthcare communities.

This role is built around ownership.

You’ll develop trusted relationships with physicians, therapists, hospitals, employer groups, schools, and community organizations while creating new opportunities for patients to access high-quality behavioral healthcare.

Working closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing and Contact Center Operations, you’ll develop and execute market strategies that strengthen referral partnerships, improve provider utilization, and support sustainable organizational growth.

You’ll operate at the intersection of:

  • Business Development
  • Physician & Referral Relations
  • Community Partnerships
  • Market Strategy
  • Patient Access
  • Organizational Growth

This isn’t about maintaining relationships.

It’s about building a market.

What You’ll OwnTerritory Strategy & Market Ownership
  • Develop and execute quarterly territory business plans aligned with organizational priorities
  • Build annual market penetration strategies that increase My Psychiatrist’s presence throughout the community
  • Identify underserved markets, geographic expansion opportunities, and emerging referral pathways
  • Analyze referral trends and market performance to refine territory strategy
  • Maintain awareness of competitor activity, behavioral health trends, healthcare systems, employer groups, and community resources
  • Independently prioritize outreach activities based on opportunity, performance, and market intelligence
  • Continuously identify new partnerships that strengthen long-term market growth
Physician & Referral Partner Development
  • Build and maintain relationships with primary care physicians, pediatricians, neurologists, OB/GYNs, pain management specialists, sleep medicine providers, endocrinologists, oncologists, hospitalists, emergency departments, therapists, psychologists, case managers, social workers, community mental health organizations, substance use programs, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other key referral partners
  • Conduct consistent in-person physician and referral partner visits
  • Develop preferred referral partnerships that generate recurring patient referrals
  • Maintain meaningful follow-up and relationship cadence with active referral sources
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with high-performing partners while expanding into new referral networks
  • Position My Psychiatrist as the preferred behavioral health resource throughout South Miami and Miami-Dade County
Community Outreach & Organizational Visibility
  • Represent My Psychiatrist at healthcare conferences, networking events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, health fairs, employer wellness initiatives, universities, schools, nonprofit organizations, public health programs, first responder agencies, veterans organizations, and community events
  • Coordinate Lunch-and-Learn presentations and educational outreach opportunities
  • Identify sponsorships and community partnerships aligned with organizational growth goals
  • Secure speaking opportunities for physicians and organizational leaders
  • Expand community awareness through strategic outreach initiatives that generate measurable patient access and referral growth
  • Evaluate outreach efforts based on measurable business outcomes—not attendance alone
Referral Growth & Patient Access
  • Generate qualified referrals across Psychiatry, Therapy, Psychological Testing, TMS Therapy, SPRAVATO®, and Clinical Research
  • Monitor referral-to-consult and referral-to-kept appointment conversion rates
  • Review referral performance and conversion reports on an ongoing basis
  • Identify referral leakage, scheduling barriers, insurance limitations, and patient access challenges
  • Collaborate with Contact Center Operations and Lead Conversion Specialists to improve referral conversion and scheduling outcomes
  • Partner with Practice Operations to ensure referral partners and patients experience a seamless transition into care
  • Recommend workflow improvements that reduce delays and improve provider utilization
Territory Intelligence & Business Analytics
  • Track active, prospective, and inactive referral partners
  • Document meetings, outreach activity, referral trends, follow-up schedules, and growth opportunities
  • Monitor pipeline forecasting, referral performance, and market intelligence
  • Maintain complete CRM documentation with accuracy and consistency
  • Utilize CRM reporting to evaluate territory performance and support leadership decision-making
  • Present territory performance updates and strategic recommendations based on measurable business outcomes
Insurance & Service Line Expertise

You’ll maintain current knowledge of:

  • Psychiatry
  • Therapy
  • Psychological Testing
  • TMS & Neuromodulation
  • SPRAVATO®
  • Provider specialties and areas of expertise
  • Insurance participation
  • Referral requirements
  • Authorization requirements
  • Patient eligibility
  • Office locations
  • Appointment availability
  • Patient access workflows

Your ability to educate referral partners accurately and confidently will strengthen trust and improve patient access throughout your territory.

ROI & Business Development Effectiveness

You’ll evaluate the effectiveness of every outreach initiative to ensure business development investments generate measurable growth.

You’ll identify high-performing referral sources, recommend where additional investment should be made, and help reallocate resources away from initiatives that don’t produce meaningful patient growth.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a relationship builder who combines strategic thinking with disciplined execution—someone who understands that trust is earned, partnerships are cultivated, and meaningful growth is built one relationship at a time.

Required
  • Full professional fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Health, or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience in healthcare business development, physician relations, provider outreach, account management, or healthcare sales
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining long-term professional relationships
  • Strong consultative communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional organizational, territory management, and time management abilities
  • Experience using CRM platforms to manage pipelines, track performance, and maintain relationship activity
  • Experience analyzing referral performance, conversion metrics, and business development outcomes
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel throughout South Miami and Miami-Dade County
Preferred
  • Experience within behavioral health, psychiatry, or outpatient healthcare
  • An established network of physicians, healthcare providers, or community organizations throughout South Florida
  • Experience with different CRM platforms
  • Experience developing territory strategies, market expansion plans, and community outreach initiatives
  • Knowledge of healthcare referral workflows, provider utilization, and patient access strategies
The Kind of Professional Who Thrives Here

Beyond experience, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Takes ownership without waiting for direction.
  • Builds trust through consistency, professionalism, and follow-through.
  • Thinks strategically while executing with discipline.
  • Develops relationships by creating value—not by making transactions.
  • Communicates with confidence, authenticity, and emotional intelligence.
  • Welcomes feedback because continuous improvement matters.
  • Represents the organization with integrity in every interaction.
  • Sees challenges as opportunities to build stronger partnerships.
  • Takes pride in measurable results while never losing sight of the people behind them.
