What is a partner development manager at AWS?

A Partner Development Manager (PDM) at AWS is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with AWS's partner organizations, such as independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators, and consulting firms. Their primary goal is to help these partners grow their business on the AWS platform by providing guidance, resources, and support. PDMs work closely with partners to develop go-to-market strategies, drive joint business initiatives, and ensure partners are equipped to deliver cloud solutions to customers. They also collaborate with internal AWS teams to align partner activities with AWS's broader business objectives.

How does a partner development manager at AWS typically collaborate with internal teams to support partner success?

As a Partner Development Manager at AWS, you will frequently collaborate with internal teams such as sales, solutions architecture, marketing, and product specialists. This collaboration ensures that partners receive the technical guidance, co-marketing opportunities, and sales enablement they need to build successful AWS-based solutions. Regular cross-functional meetings and joint strategy sessions are common, as is the need to communicate partner feedback internally to drive improvements. Building strong relationships within AWS is key to navigating resources and delivering value to partners.

Job description

Overview
As a Partner Development Manager within Intuit's Workforce Solutions organization, you will own the end-to-end health and growth of an assigned portfolio of strategic partners. You are the single point of accountability for partner performance, retention, and expansion within your book - responsible for surfacing and closing incremental revenue opportunities inside existing partnerships, while ensuring commitments made at signing are delivered against in-market.
This role sits at the intersection of partner management and revenue growth. You will carry a revenue growth target tied to the Workforce Solutions fiscal year budget, and you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of each partner's business in order to identify and act on growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Partner Ownership & Portfolio Management
  • Own end-to-end accountability for an assigned portfolio of Workforce Solutions partners across commercial, operational, and strategic dimensions.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner, maintaining the partnership through business reviews, working group engagement, ongoing performance evaluation, and coordination with relevant internal and partner-side stakeholders.
  • Build and execute joint business plans with each partner, establishing clear growth targets and milestones.
  • Own issue and escalation management, mobilizing the right internal teams when partner-facing problems arise.
Cross-Functional Execution & Stakeholder Influence
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Product Development, GTM, Legal, Finance, Accounting, and XD to translate partner needs into internal execution.
  • Influence stakeholders across the business to prioritize partner-specific work and campaigns
  • Represent Workforce Solutions in internal planning forums, ensuring partner needs and market feedback shape cross-functional prioritization.
Partnership Activation & Growth
  • Lead the transition from signed deal to live, revenue-generating partnership, holding product and GTM teams accountable to launch commitments.
  • Identify and convert growth opportunities within existing partnerships - new product attach, expanded distribution, incremental GTM investment.
  • Own delivery against an annual revenue growth target tied to the Workforce Solutions fiscal year budget.
  • Take on stretch assignments supporting new partnership deals - due diligence and business case development - as a growth path within the role.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Required
  • 7+ years of experience in partner management, account management, business development, or a related client-facing role within a SaaS or technology company.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow revenue within an existing book of partners or accounts - this is a growth mandate, not a maintenance role.
  • Proven track record managing multiple external relationships and internal stakeholders simultaneously, with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority; you will need buy-in from Legal, Finance, Product, and GTM on a regular basis.
  • Strong business judgment: comfortable interrogating partner performance data to identify trends and convert them into action.
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized, with a proven ability to manage a high volume of concurrent workstreams without dropping details.
Preferred
  • Experience with SMB customers or SMB-focused products.
  • Prior exposure to business development, deal-making, or channel/partnership roles.
  • Familiarity with contracting, negotiation, or deal structuring.
  • Exposure to revenue or financial modeling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
