Job description

Make a Difference at Grand Canyon University
Grand Canyon University is seeking motivated, knowledgeable, and student-focused individuals to support learning excellence within The College of Theology. This is an exciting opportunity to mentor students, collaborate with faculty, and gain valuable instructional experience while helping shape the next generation of professionals and innovators.
As an Instructional Assistant, you will play an important role in creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment through hands-on assistance, tutoring, classroom facilitation, and academic support.
This is a face-to-face, part-time opportunity located on GCU's Main Campus in Phoenix, Arizona.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required

  • Must reside in Arizona and be available to work in person on GCU's Main Campus

  • Successfully completed coursework in Theology, Ministry, or Divinity,with a grade of B or higher

  • Strong communication and classroom support skills

  • Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or instructional support experience preferred

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with faculty to support classroom instruction and student engagement

  • Assist with lesson preparation, grading, and classroom facilitation

  • Hold weekly office hours to provide tutoring and academic support

  • Reinforce course concepts through one-on-one and group assistance

  • Support classroom management and proctor examinations

  • Observe and report student progress to faculty

  • Facilitate review sessions and supplemental instruction opportunities

  • Help create a collaborative and encouraging learning environment

  • Uphold and support the mission and values of Grand Canyon University

Additional Information
  • Part-time, in-person position
