Job description

Position Description
Columbus Academy seeks a part-time Technology Support Specialist with responsibilities to begin as
soon as possible.
The part-time Technology Support Specialist is a dynamic role designed for a technically-minded
individual who thrives on variety and problem-solving. The primary responsibility is staffing our
walk-up support desk, providing essential, front-line technical assistance to students and faculty
across all three school divisions. This role requires a high degree of adaptability and a growth
mindset, as the specialist will be the "face" of technology support for a diverse campus community.
Position Expectations
The individual selected for this position will be expected to carry out the following responsibilities:
  • Walk-Up Support: Provide primary troubleshooting and resolution for hardware and software issues at the campus support desk.
  • System Documentation: Maintain and create clear, concise documentation for internal processes, "how-to" guides for end-users, and current "as-is" records of the school's technology environment.
  • Account & Infrastructure Support: Assist in administering accounts and performing routine maintenance to ensure a secure infrastructure.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with all departments-including Academics,
  • Athletics, Enrollment, Finance, and Communications-to ensure technology needs aremet with diplomacy and professionalism.

Physical Conditions
  • Candidates must be able to manage the following conditions:
  • Classroom environment
  • Mobility around school buildings and on different floors (handicap accessible)
  • Repetitive motion (use of a keyboard)
  • Periodic need to move light furniture, hang visuals in classroom, carry objects (no more than 40
  • pounds), etc.
  • A non-smoking environment
