Position Summary

Southwest Baptist University invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position in Computing. Primary teaching responsibilities will be delivered online, although in-person teaching can also be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to student success, and support for the mission of a Christ-centered university.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in computing-related disciplines, which may include:
    • Artificial Intelligence
    • Information Technology
    • Information Systems
    • Computer Science
    • Cybersecurity
    • Data Science
    • Software Development
    • Networking and related fields
  • Prepare and deliver engaging course materials aligned with departmental learning outcomes.
  • Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages academic excellence, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate course records and submit grades in accordance with university policies and deadlines.
  • Utilize the university's learning management system and instructional technologies effectively.
  • Support the mission and values of Southwest Baptist University through professional conduct and Christ-centered teaching practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a computing-related field such as:
    • Information Technology
    • Information Systems
    • Computer Science
    • Cybersecurity
    • Data Science
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Or a closely related computing discipline
  • Enrolled in, actively pursuing, or completed a Ph.D. in a computing-related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more computing disciplines relevant to the university curriculum.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
