THE ROLE

The Part-Time Box Office Ticket Seller serves as the first point of contact for guestspurchasingtickets and seeking event information. This positionis responsible fordelivering exceptional customer service while accurately processing ticket sales, handling cash transactions,assistingwith will-call, and providing information about events at the DCU Center. Successful candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a positive guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell tickets for events using the venue's computerized ticketing system.

  • Open and close ticket windowsin accordance withestablished procedures.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service byassistingguests promptly, professionally, and courteously.

  • Respond to guest inquiriesregardingevents, ticket availability, pricing, seating, and venue information.

  • Process ticket sales accurately whilemaintainingproper cash-handling procedures.

  • Balance daily cash drawer, reconcile ticket sales, andsubmitcash and documentation for audit.

  • Maintainaccuratecounts of ticket inventory, including hard tickets and computerized ticket sales.

  • Process will-call orders andreservedticket requests according to established procedures.

  • Assistwith ticket reservations made by telephone or other approved methods.

  • Perform routine clerical and administrative duties related to box office operations.

  • Work independently while following established policies, procedures, and customer service standards.

  • Support other box office functions and performadditionalduties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Required

  • HighSchool Diplomaor GED.

  • Six months to one year of customer service, cash handling, retail, hospitality, or related experience.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred

  • Previousbox office or guest services experience.

  • Experience using computerized ticketing or point-of-sale systems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to accurately count money and makechange.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and ticket transactions.

  • Ability to enter data accurately into computerized ticketing systems.

  • Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to answer guest questions professionally.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Ability tomaintaina professional appearance andpositiveattitude.

  • Ability toworka flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, andspecial events.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

COMPENSATION

HourlyRate: $16.80

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position works primarily in a box office environment and requires availability toworka flexible event-driven schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A background check isrequiredfor all cash-handling positions.
