BVA Bear’s IT Solutions is seeking a Senior Deskside Support Technician. This is a part-time position, expected to work approximately 20 hours per week. Hours will be scheduled within the City’s standard business hours (8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday), excluding City holidays. Some flexibility may be required to support City Council meetings, hearings, or transition activities.

The Senior Deskside Support Technician provides high touch, in person “white glove” IT support to Philadelphia City Council members and staff. This support role serves as a core onsite presence responsible for workstation setup, troubleshooting, and end user support across City Hall and district offices, delivering responsive, professional service. 
This position requires strong hands-on technical skills, excellent customer service, and experience supporting executive or public sector users in fast paced environments. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide onsite deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and collaboration tools. 
  • Perform individualized workstation setup, configuration, upgrades, and data migration. 
  • Respond to, resolve, and document service requests using the City approved ticketing system. 
  • Support audiovisual and collaboration technology for City Council meetings and public hearings. 
  • Deliver end user training and technology refresher sessions. 
  • Assist with Right-to-Know RTK data collection support activities as required. 
  • Execute transitioning and transition out tasks under the direction of the Project / Operations Manager. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of workstation builds, troubleshooting steps, and service resolutions. 

Required Qualifications:
 

  • Minimum 5–7 years of deskside or desktop support experience. 
  • Strong customer service skills and experience supporting executive or government users. 
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common collaboration tools. 

 Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience supporting municipal or legislative office environments. 
  • Audiovisual and meeting support experience.

Applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship (such as a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or Certificate of Naturalization) prior to employment.
