Job description

Job Summary
As a valued member of our nonprofit retail team dedicated to ocean conservation and science education, the Part-Time Sales Associate plays a key role in delivering an engaging and educational shopping experience across our multiple store locations. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, promoting mission-driven merchandise, and supporting daily retail operations. Duties include assisting with inventory receiving and restocking, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and engaging guests to help them connect with our conservation and science mission.
This role may require occasional travel between locations and availability on weekends and holidays.
Core Responsibilities
  • Achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Maintain customer service standards to the highest possible level
  • Take responsibility in coordination with the Director of Retail Operations for productivity and profitability of the store
  • Maintain the highest level of security and safety awareness in the store
  • Develop volunteers to be knowledgeable in areas of product, merchandising, customer service, and sales goals/objectives
  • In coordination with the Director of Retail Operations, participate in the execution of effectively receiving and merchandising inventory
  • Have thorough knowledge of sales floor and stockroom organization
  • Responsible for all activities within the store in the absence of the Senior Sales Associate or Director of Retail Operations
  • Ability to work shifts on weekends and holidays according to the needs of the store

This is an hourly, non-exempt, and non-essential
part-time position. The successful incumbent may be required to perform tasks beyond the scope of this job description as requested by the supervisor. This recruitment may be used to select candidates for additional open positions. It is our policy that all team members, including newly hired, transferred, and promoted team members, will be carefully monitored and evaluated for an initial introductory 3-month period on the job. After satisfactory completion of the introductory evaluation, such team members will be evaluated annually.
