Ajax Distributing is a family owned and operated distribution company for beer and non-alcoholic beverages in Clarksville, Paris, Memphis and surrounding areas. Ajax Distributing is an equal opportunity employer started in 1933 by Edward "Ajax" and Geraldine Turner as a Double Cola and Dr. Pepper bottler and Falstaff and Gerst beer distributor in Clarksville. Ajax acquired the rights to Miller High Life in 1970 and Miller Lite in 1975. The company later acquired the rights to Coors Brewing Company in 1988.
Part-time Position - Saturdays amp; Sundays (future potential for additional days) Location: Memphis, TN
Position supports the Sales Department through safe and efficient product placement and display building by accurately stocking, maintaining, displaying, and rotating products onto shelves from backroom inventories as required. Position requires moving product between backroom and display floor with manual equipment, such as a pallet jack or hand truck. Position requires establishing and maintaining a professional rapport with retail personnel, based on trustworthiness, respect, communication and a high level of customer service. Perform other duties as assigned. Candidate MUST be reliable with good safe work habits, have reliable transportation, good attendance and punctuality, ability to be a team player, and a fast learner.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must have 6 months+ work experience (distribution warehouse environment, roofer, farmhand, construction, manipulating patients in hospital/nursing home or physical therapy environment, or other positions which require continuous heavy lifting which deals with multi-temperature).
* Employee must have ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts amp; pallet jacks in a safe, responsible, and professional manner.
* Employee must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 170 lbs. when handling keg products.
* Employee must have reliable transportation, maintain an acceptable driving record and valid driver license, and maintain auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum amount specified by the Company and the state of Tennessee.
