OBGYN Surgical/Billing Coordinator (Part - Time)
Overview:
Square Care Medical Group in partnership with Unified Womenโ€™s Healthcare New York is currently seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated individual to fill the position of Surgical/Billing Coordinator. Square Care Medical Group is the largest women's health organization on Long Island. We offer several specialties with 70 providers across 20 locations, and are a recognized leader in our industry.
The Surgical/Billing Coordinator is responsible for preparing, submitting, and following up on insurance claims related to womenโ€™s health services such as prenatal care, deliveries, gynecological exams, and procedures. Other duties include claim denial follow-up. This candidate will assist in promoting a positive patient experience as outlined in our mission, vision, and values.
** Remote Position ** Candidate must reside within 25 miles of Bayside, NY.

Responsibilities:
  • Posts and reconciles all surgical and obstetrical charges
  • Handle global maternity billing (bundled prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care)
  • Ensure accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes before claim submission
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
  • Ensure compliance with payer requirements and regulations
  • Track unpaid or denied claims and follow up for resolution
  • Appeal denied claims when necessary
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
  • Stay updated on coding changes, especially OB-GYN-specific guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
  • OB-GYNโ€“Specific Knowledge
  • Understanding of global obstetric billing packages
  • Familiarity with services like ultrasounds, prenatal visits, labor amp; delivery, and postpartum care
  • Knowledge of modifiers (e.g., multiple gestation, high-risk pregnancy)
Experience amp; Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical billing software and EHR systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with insurance policies and reimbursement processes

  • 3+ years of experience as a surgical scheduler or medical biller
