Job description

In this role you will have the opportunity to tutor students who are in an Accelerated BSN program. As a tutor, you will provide content expertise in med math/dosage calculations, MedSurg, Fundamentals, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Community, Mental Health, OB and/or Pediatrics. You will meet with students via Zoom for 1 hour group sessions to review and clarify nursing concepts. The ability to support prelicensure students and explain complex concepts in a easy to understand manner is required. You will be required to tutor for a minimum of eight hours per month or 32 hours per 16-week semester. This role will support students from a variety of colleges and universities nationally. Those that are in Mountain Time and Pacific time are encouraged to apply to support PM Pacific Time tutoring sessions. PT Tutors will report to the Manager, Centralized Tutoring.

Location: Remote
Schedule: Varied based on student need, minimum of 8 hours per month

What You Will Do:
  • Facilitate group tutoring sessions for ABSN programs via the online learning environment
  • Currently looking for tutors who live in the PST or AZ time zones and can lead med math, Med/Surg, fundamentals, pathophysiology an/or pharmacology tutoring sessions
  • Provide academic support to students by providing course content clarity on difficult concepts, answering course content questions, and reviewing best practices in study skills, time management, and stress management
  • Maintain nursing competence based on current trends in healthcare and nursing academic environments
  • Create a supportive online learning environment

What You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required, MSN preferred
  • Active, Unencumbered RN License
  • 2 year of experience providing support to others in precepting, tutoring, training, instruction, advising academic support services or classroom instruction required.
  • 2 year of recent nursing experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills with high degree of professionalism
