Job description

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Recreation Assistants to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through recreational, social, and community-based programs throughout Ocean County. This part-time opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, encouraging community involvement, and helping individuals build meaningful social connections.

As a Recreation Assistant, you will help facilitate engaging activities that promote independence, confidence, and community inclusion while creating positive experiences for program participants.

Position Details
  • Employment Type: Part-Time
  • Schedule: Flexible evening and weekend hours based on program needs
  • Weekend daytime availability required
  • Pay Range: $20.70 - $24.70 per hour
  • Bi-weekly pay schedule
Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with disabilities during recreational, social, and community-based activities.
  • Support and participate in group outings, special events, and recreational programs throughout Ocean County.
  • Help facilitate activities such as fitness programs, arts and crafts, cooking groups, dances, seasonal events, and community excursions.
  • Encourage active participation, social engagement, and relationship-building among participants.
  • Provide supervision and support to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience during all activities.
  • Transport participants using agency vehicles when required.
