Job description

QuickPro Staffing is seeking a Part-Time Quality & Engineering Manager to lead product quality and engineering support for a small electronics component manufacturer with production operations in India.

This role is responsible for ensuring consistent product quality across both commercial and Mil-Spec product lines while supporting international manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a small-company environment, takes ownership from start to finish, and is comfortable collaborating with offshore production teams and suppliers.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management
  • Serve as the primary quality and engineering liaison between company headquarters, customers, and the India-based manufacturing partner team.
  • Investigate customer and internal quality issues and coordinate resolution efforts with factory Quality Engineering teams.
  • Prepare and complete 8D reports for customer and internal quality concerns.
  • Partner with the India manufacturing team to implement and verify corrective actions and process improvements resulting from investigations.
  • Monitor incoming product inspections in accordance with DLA standards.
  • Maintain internal Quality Action Systems and QA records.
  • Develop and maintain quality inspection packages for all products, including routers, drawings, and dimensional measurement charts for military parts.
  • Maintain quality documentation files, including Certificates of Compliance and incoming inspection records.
Engineering & Technical Support
  • Provide hands-on engineering support for custom applications as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transfer of projects to manufacturing in India.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability (DFM), cost efficiency, and reliability.
  • Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and ensure proper implementation.
  • Maintain all product drawings, including converting partner drawings into company templates and developing component concept drawings.
  • Oversee product qualification, testing, and quality-related evaluations, including DLA-required testing.
  • Interface with DLA regarding changes to military products or manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain Lot Acceptance Reports for DLA products, including Group A & B test data documentation.
Preferred QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience).
Experience
  • 5–10 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably involving components or subassemblies.
  • Experience working with offshore manufacturing teams, ideally in India.
  • Strong background in both quality assurance and engineering functions.
  • Prior experience in a small or growing company environment strongly preferred.
  • Military experience in engineering or quality assurance is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of electronics components and manufacturing processes, including passive components, connectors, or related products.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and MIL-STD 790 quality standards.
  • Familiarity with QPL/QPD processes involving DLA and NavAir is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience using root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-cultural and remote team environments.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and adaptable.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including RoHS and REACH.
