Job description

Product Development Analyst

Meadow Gold Dairies Hawaii | Part-Time · 20 hrs/week | Waipahu, HI

About Meadow Gold Dairies Hawaii

Meadow Gold Dairies Hawaii has been part of island life since 1897 — one of the most recognized and trusted brands in the state. Our portfolio spans dairy, juices, teas, ice cream, and more, including POG, Hawaii’s iconic passion fruit-orange-guava juice that has been a household staple for generations.

Now locally and family-owned, we’re committed to revitalizing Hawaii’s dairy industry. With local processing in Hilo and statewide distribution, we continue to invest in local dairy and deliver our trusted brand to communities across the islands. As consumer preferences evolve and our product development pipeline expands, we’re building the infrastructure to innovate with intention.

The Role

We’re hiring a part-time Product Development Analyst to own the innovation process behind bringing new products to market. This is a commercial and analytical role — sitting at the intersection of market research, supplier coordination, business case development, and launch management.

You will have real ownership of projects from day one. We’re building this function from the ground up, which means the person in this seat will shape how product development runs at MGD for years to come. If you’re looking to own something from concept to market, this may be a satisfying job for you!

This role starts at 20 hours per week with a clear path to full-time as the scope grows.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive benchmarks, and consumer insights — including regular field visits to retail stores across the island to audit shelf placement, competitive activity, and product performance firsthand
  • Support formulation development by coordinating with suppliers, manufacturing, and procurement
  • Maintain product pipeline documentation and launch checklists
  • Build and manage supplier relationships relevant to new product development
  • Support cross-functional coordination with QA, plant operations, sales, and operations
What We’re Looking For
  • Pursuing or completed a degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Business, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Evidence of being a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Curiosity about food, consumer behavior, and the business of better-for-you products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Familiarity with tools like Excel, Notion, or project management platforms is a plus
  • Experience in the food & beverage industry is a plus
  • Reliable personal transportation — field visits to retail locations are part of the role
Compensation & Details
  • Pay: $20–26/hr depending on background and experience
  • Hours: 20 hrs/week to start, but can lead to full time
  • Location: Waipahu, HI (open to hybrid)
