Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: Must be passionate about working with animals. Responsible for the maintenance of the Animal Care facility; feeds, cleans, cares for, and disposes of animals; cleans out animal stalls, sweeps, cleans windows and walls, empties garbage receptacles; stocks supplies and reports necessary reorders to supervisor. Must be able to work well with the public and co workers. Must be able to answer a multi-line telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
Other Job Functions: Performs other duties as required. Job description statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job title. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.
Working Conditions
This position requires 100% on-site work. Works inside and outside; exposed to strong odors and the possibility of bruises, cuts and animal bites. Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds. Must be available to work Monday thru Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., shifts will vary; must be able to work the weekends when needed.
Minimum Essential Qualifications
Knowledge: Knowledge of the materials, practices, and methods used in cleaning operations; some knowledge of safety procedures used in working with animals; some knowledge of the methods and procedures used in caring for animals. Knowledge of computers and digital camera equipment.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to work with and around often vicious, sick or injured animals; ability to use cleaning equipment safely and efficiently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Must be able to follow policies and standard operating procedures; must be able to follow directions and able to learn and use new skills.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hers; frequently walks, climbs, crawls, bends, twists body, drives, squats, stoops, lifts, carries, pulls, pushes and drags objects weighing up to 100 lbs., (including both live and dead animals).
Education/Experience: Completion of eight (8) school grades supplemented with previous janitorial experience; minimum six (6) months experience working with animals preferred. Experience with digital cameras and photo editing software preferred.

This position requires 100% on-site work. Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
