Ability to move throughout event venues and campus locations for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and transport photography and video equipment up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs during event coverage. Ability to operate camera.

Job Summary
The University of Kentucky Alumni Association is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Temporary Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator to support communications efforts. This part-time STEPS position will assist with the day-to-day management of UK Alumni Association social media channels and help create engaging photo and video content that highlights alumni stories, events and university traditions.
This position will work closely with the communications and marketing team to capture and produce content for all digital platforms. Responsibilities include photographing and filming alumni events, editing short-form videos and graphics, drafting social media copy, monitoring engagement and assisting with content planning and scheduling.
The ideal candidate is highly creative, organized and comfortable working in fast-paced event environments while maintaining the University of Kentucky brand and voice.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Experience managing social media platforms for an organization, brand or student group
- Strong photography and videography skills
- Experience using DSLR or mirrorless cameras and professional photo/video equipment
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar editing software
- Ability to create engaging short-form video content for social media
- Strong written communication and storytelling skills
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Familiarity with university, alumni or nonprofit communications is a plus
