Job description

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Reno, NV.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday hours will vary between 6:00 am – 6:00 pm based on coverage needs; Weekend hours may be required as needed

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of approximately 25 or more phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices in Carson City, Elko and Reno, NV
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules, and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect, and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Nevada state issued laboratory assistant license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed Phlebotomy training program from an accredited agency
  • 3 or more years’ phlebotomy experience working in clinical / hospital environment
  • Pediatric - Geriatric patient experience
  • Phlebotomy managerial, supervisory, team leader experience

Additional Job Standards:

  • In lieu of state license requirement listed above, an application for a lab assistant license filed with the NV Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record

As a Phlebotomy Supervisor you will lead a team of Phlebotomists and directly impact the Patient/Client experience. You will manage and oversee all aspects of our LabCorp patient service centers and designated client locations. This role emphasizes your ability to lead, inspire, and develop others

Pay Range: $55,000 - 101,063 annually

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. 

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
