Job description

Title: Operations Assistant

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Type: Part-Time, 3 month contract (extendable)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (20 hours/week)

Position Summary

The Operations Assistant provides administrative and organizational support to a site to Operations Managers and Supervisors, coordinating all aspects of daily operations including recording and reporting data.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assists in troubleshooting and resolving safety, service, and operational issues.
  • Maintains and distributes department related information daily.
  • Communicate with other supervisors and managers about operations and/or dispatch issues.
  • Completes and maintains a variety of reports as directed by the department manager.
  • Uses software tools to manage a variety of tasks, such as time and attendance, safety incidents, and contract labor.
  • Assists with the processing of invoices and other financial tasks as necessary.
  • Assists in the implementation of operational projects as needed.
  • Backup to Operations Support Specialists as necessary. Creating, distributing, and closing out customer tickets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Inventory and distribute tote delivery tickets daily.
  • Supports supervisors with customer, driver and sales needs.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED, Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable personal vehicle - required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to maintain high attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
