The program is designed to help students get a head start on their college education with time and money savings. We strive to provide opportunities for students to develop college-ready mindsets with paths to complete a certificate/associate degree, transfer, or join the workforce

San Bernardino Community College District - Valley College seeks part-time faculty members in multiple disciplines to teach in the Dual Enrollment Program. The ideal candidate will share the Colleges' commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.

Qualifications Duties and Responsibilities: The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. The essential functions of this position include the following: 1.

Teach courses in the Dual Enrollment program on participating high school campuses 2. Develop and evaluate curricula appropriate to the different learning needs of students as well as developing student learning outcomes 3. Provide a classroom environment that promotes and stimulates learning for every student 4.

Use and stay abreast of current pedagogies and technologies that are effective in a diverse classroom as well as staying current with all requirements and regulations of state agencies that have accreditation authority over the program and its courses 5. Consult with students during regularly-scheduled office hours 6. Collaborate with other program faculty and staff to use assessment techniques to maximize the effectiveness of instruction and student success 7.

Perform other duties as required by contract, collective bargaining agreement, and general institutional needs in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff 2.

Child Development Education Possession of a Master's or above in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education OR Bachelor's child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education AND Master's or above in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/home economics, family life studies, or family and consumer studies OR the equivalent

Digital Media Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional digital media experience OR any associate degree and six years of professional digital media experience OR the equivalent. The professional experience required must be directly related to this teaching assignment. Photography (Art) Master's or above in photography, fine arts, or art OR Bachelor's in photography, fine arts, or art AND Master's or above in art history or humanities OR the equivalent.

Computer Information Technology Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional digital media experience OR any associate degree and six years of professional digital media experience OR the equivalent. The professional experience required must be directly related to this teaching assignment. Broadcast Technology Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional digital media experience OR any associate degree and six years of professional digital media experience OR the equivalent.

Employment Requirements Special Instructions: This position is a "pool" position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available. The District maintains a "pool" of applications for positions which are needed on an ongoing basis at San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College.

The advantage of "pool" positions is when a position becomes available, the Dean may immediately begin screening applications from the available pool of applicants without having to post a position and wait while the position is being advertised.
