Job description

Network Operations Center Tier II Systems Administrator
The Opportunity:
Your combination of people skills and technical expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting our client's no-fail, unique mission? We're looking for a systems administrator who specializes in Red Hat Enterprise Linux to help us build and maintain tailored virtual infrastructure supporting global missions focused on seeking out and eliminating cyberspace threats to defend the United States and its allies.
As a systems administrator on our project, you'll ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available and constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You'll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You'll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset with tools such as Ansible, oVirt, pfSense, FreeIPA, Docker, Jira, and Confluence. We focus on growing as a team, so you'll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the teamwork through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a technical leader, you'll identify new opportunities to modernize the network to help your customers meet their needs. You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux
  • Experience in a system engineering or system administration role
  • Experience with Linux system administration and Virtual Machine Management
  • Experience with Jira ticketing and Confluence
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with advanced troubleshooting of network, firewall, system, and application issues, including oVirt, FreeIPA, and pfSense
  • Experience in provisioning virtual infrastructure and allocating virtual infrastructure hosting software
  • Experience with container provisioning tools, including Docker
  • Experience with Apache NiFi deployments
  • Ability to use automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code to manage installations, pipelines, and scripting
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering
  • IAT Level II Certification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
