Job description

The Music and Movement Teacher plays a vital role in nurturing students' spiritual, musical, and physical development through a Christ-centered approach to education. This individual will lead music and movement instruction for infants through 5th grade, integrating creative expression with physical education, Biblical principles, and joyful worship. In addition to classroom teaching, the Music and Movement Teacher will coordinate school-wide chapels and special programs such as Christmas performances and end-of-year celebrations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruction:
    • Teach music, movement, and physical education to students from infancy through 5th grade.
    • Introduce students to a variety of musical instruments, rhythms, songs, and movement activities appropriate to their developmental levels.
    • Implement engaging Bible lessons that foster spiritual growth and Biblical literacy.
  • Worship Leadership & Chapel Coordination:
    • Plan and lead weekly chapels, including student participation in worship, scripture reading, and prayer.
    • Coordinate with faculty and administration to schedule and organize special chapels and spiritual emphasis events.
  • Program Development:
    • Direct school-wide programs such as the Christmas program and end-of-year performances.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music and movement into broader curricular goals and seasonal events.
  • Classroom Environment:
    • Create a welcoming and orderly environment where students feel safe to explore, worship, and express themselves.
    • Demonstrate classroom management skills grounded in Christian love, patience, and respect.

Qualifications:
  • A committed Christian who supports the mission and values of a Christ-centered education.
  • Experience teaching or leading music and/or movement activities for children, preferably in a Christian or faith-based setting.
  • Strong musical ability (vocal and/or instrumental).
  • Passion for worship, working with children, and sharing Biblical truths in age-appropriate ways.

Compensation: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
