Description
St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Gladstone, MO is seeking a full time Music Director.
  • Select/rehearse/direct choral music selections for the parish choirs.
  • Plan music selections for weekend Masses and weekday school Masses.
  • Supervision and scheduling of cantors and other musicians.
  • Hire holiday musicians and accompanists for Chirstmas and Easter as needed.
  • Maintain the parish music library, equipment, and instruments.
  • Works closely with academy staff and administration to plan musicals selections for school masses and other special events like Christmas concerts.
  • Assist preparation of music for Funerals and Weddings.
  • Report all copyright licensing and usage of published music.
  • Provide keyboard accompaniment for weekend and special liturgies.
  • Work within the approved budget for the parish music ministry.
  • Meet regularly with parish staff, Fr. Thomas, and musicians.

Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with Roman Catholic liturgy.
  • Demonstrated competency with piano and/or organ.
  • Strong vocal skills and ability to teach music to the congregation.
  • Experience in choral conducting and working with children.
  • Must be available to work weekends and some evenings.
  • Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
