Job description

The Part-time Motor Pool Dispatcher is responsible for performing the dispatching of vehicles and radios to support Terminal activities.
  • Assign vehicles and radios to labor prior to shift, logging proper credentials for accountability.
  • Communicate with the mechanic's shop to ensure vehicles are serviceable and sanitized.
  • Report communication deficiencies, damaged equipment, or unreturned radios/equipment (with the employer's complaint filed) to the Department Manager.
  • Ensure equipment is ready for next shift.
  • Support Terminal's operations during work hours.
  • Occasionally drive through container yard during busy conditions.
  • Support the Security Department's needs for additional radios or vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Work environment:
  • Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Exposure to computer screens.
  • The office staff may be required to work outside on their feet 3-5 times a day several times a week, depending on the workload.
  • Exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is occassional.
