SUMMARY
The primary purpose of a Pool Lifeguard is to assist with guest in the safety and enjoyment of the Knoebels Crystal Pool. This is a seasonal position, reporting to the Aquatics Manager.
Crystal Pool's operational summer hours are typically Sunday through Saturday 11am to 6pm. During the parks season, evening and weekend hours are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observe and enforce all rules and regulations
- Prevent injuries and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations
- Respond quickly to emergency situations
- Handle guest complaints or call a supervisor
- Administer basic First Aid as needed to guests
- Attend all in service training programs and be aware of all scheduled facility events
- Maintain the First-Aid room at the pool
- Perform additional duties as assigned including but not limited to skimming the pool, weeding, scrubbing the ring around the pool, sweeping the pool deck, collecting trash
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Attend basic/advanced lifesaving, CPR and First Aid classes at the pool for certification
- Certified in: American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- WSI: Water Safety Instructor (helpful but not required)
- Must possess a strong ability to swim
- Candidate should possess strong communication skills, high degree of integrity, positive attitude, attention to detail and the ability to solve problems
- Candidate should have the ability to build strong relationships with guests, provide a high level of guest service, and be an effective member of a team
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong customer service skills, both internal and external
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong focus
- Exceptional communication skills while relating to people in a friendly, professional manner
- Self-motivated; acts without needing directions
- Perform cleaning duties as needed to maintain a clean, safe work environment
