What is a part time mother baby tech?

Part Time Mother Baby Techs are healthcare professionals who work alongside nurses and other staff in maternity units, assisting with the care of mothers and newborns. Their responsibilities typically include taking vital signs, helping with breastfeeding support, performing basic newborn care, and ensuring patient rooms are stocked and clean. Working part time means they have a flexible schedule, which may include nights or weekends. They play a vital role in supporting both patients and medical teams during the postpartum period.

What are the typical responsibilities of a part time mother baby tech during a shift?

As a Part Time Mother Baby Tech, your primary responsibilities include assisting nurses with newborn care, performing routine tasks such as taking vital signs, helping mothers with breastfeeding support, and ensuring that patient rooms are stocked and sanitized. You may also be responsible for transporting infants for tests or procedures and documenting relevant information in patient charts. Shifts often involve working closely with both nurses and new mothers, requiring excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Flexibility is important, as shifts can include evenings, nights, or weekends depending on the unit's needs.
