Project Engineer (Midstream / Mechanical - Part-Time)
Location: Broussard / Larose, Louisiana (on-site)

Schedule: Part-time (~20 hours per week / ~2 days per week) Position Overview
A large midstream energy operator is seeking a part-time Junior Project Engineer to support an ongoing natural gas facilities infrastructure project in South Louisiana. This role focuses on field execution, fabrication oversight, and construction support for mechanical and compression-related equipment.
The position reports into a Senior Mechanical Engineer and supports project activities through fabrication, installation, and field execution phases. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited for an experienced engineer who is comfortable working in active fabrication yards and operating facilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with on-site oversight of compressor skid fabrication at a third-party fabrication facility in Broussard, LA
  • Support the coordination and procurement of mechanical equipment and vendor deliverables
  • Perform field checks at the operating site to verify constructability, tie-in locations, and existing conditions
  • Provide field construction oversight, supporting contractor activities related to safety, quality, and schedule
  • Coordinate with contractors, fabricators, and internal engineering stakeholders to resolve field-level issues
  • Perform miscellaneous engineering and project support tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; other engineering disciplines considered)
  • 6 years of experience supporting oil & gas, midstream, or industrial facilities projects
  • Prior exposure to compression systems, cryogenic facilities, or mechanical equipment
  • Experience in field engineering, fabrication oversight, construction support, or commissioning activities
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based, project execution environment
  • Local to, or able to routinely work in, Broussard / Larose, Louisiana
Engagement Details
  • Part-time contract position, approximately 20 hours per week
