Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Medicaid & Title IV-E Foster Care Office Coordinator. Under direction, this position will independently perform a variety of complex secretarial and technical office support functions relating to Federal Medicaid and Title IV-E foster care programs.  The position will perform advanced word processing functions for foster care requests for medical assistance forms and will upload and download information regarding Federal Medicaid and Title IV-E programs. The position will also monitor the Foster Care/Medicaid/Federal Title IV-E process related to medical coverage and review and process data entered on computer systems by DCFS field staff. In addition, this position will provide secretarial and complex, specialized office support functions for the Medical Support Unit Supervisor. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department's operations. Essential Functions
  • Serves as Medicaid & Title IV-E Foster Care Office Coordinator
  • Monitors the Foster Care/Medicaid/Federal Title IV-E process related to medical coverage
  • Provides secretarial and complex, specialized office support functions for the Medical Support Unit Supervisor
  • Reviews and processes Medicaid applications for Illinois Department of Corrections (DOC) youth in care who are placed outside of DOC facilities
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and years of related office experience OR two years of independent business experience
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm
