Position: Maintenance
All Saints of Alpena
Employment Type: Part-time
Location: Alpena, MI
We are seeking a motivated and versatile individual to join our team as a part-time Maintenance Person. This position involves ensuring the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of our facilities, with responsibilities ranging from general maintenance tasks to supporting event setups and collaborating closely with the custodial/maintenance team and the Parish Administrator.
Responsibilities:
1. General Maintenance and Repair:
Conduct general maintenance tasks, repairs, and cleaning to prepare facilities for the following day's operations. Assist in minor construction tasks leveraging a background in construction.
2. Seasonal Grounds Care:
Assist with clearing snow from steps and entrances during winter months and assist in general ground care during the rest of year as directed or needed. Perform light maintenance tasks as needed to maintain a safe and functional environment.
3. Event Support and Display Setup:
Assist the events team in setting up displays, moving items, and supporting event logistics.
4. Boiler Maintenance and Record-Keeping:
Conduct preventative and predictive routine maintenance on all boilers.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and inspections.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the custodial/maintenance team and the Parish Administrator to coordinate maintenance schedules and tasks effectively.
Communicate any facility issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Qualifications:
Experience in general maintenance and repair work.
Background in construction or related field preferred.
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and snow shoveling.
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain records.
