Northbrook Public Library seeks a Circulation Clerk
Regular Part-Time: 21 hours/week
Schedule: Will coordinate with candidate's current established schedule. Requires 84 hours including two Saturdays and one Sunday every four weeks.
About the Position
Are you passionate about providing exceptional service and fostering a welcoming environment in a library setting? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Circulation Clerk. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Circulation Department, ensuring a positive experience for our patrons through excellent customer service and efficient handling of library materials.
As a Circulation Clerk, you will work under the guidance of the Circulation Manager or Assistant Circulation Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the public service desk, assisting patrons with various inquiries, and performing essential circulation functions. This position requires a strong commitment to upholding our library's Service Standards and values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional customer service and experience in handling customer inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner.
Proficient in conveying, receiving, responding, and expressing written and verbal information effectively.
Ability to analyze and evaluate information to assess issues and make decisions within the scope of the position.
Familiarity with office productivity tools like Google Suites/Microsoft Office. Preferred integrated library system (ILS) experience with Polaris LEAP.
Ability to work with detail, precision, and accuracy, especially in repetitive tasks.
