SUMMARY
Under the direction of a Media Center Director at a School Site, operates the circulation desk and maintains the Media Center (school library).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Equivalent to graduation from high school
Preferred: 30 college credits
Two years of work or volunteer experience in an elementary school required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates the circulation desk in the Media Center by checking materials in and out, placing reserves for students and teachers, notifying students and teachers of the arrival of held items, preparing and distributing overdue notes, and preparing bibliographies for teachers.
Maintains the Media center by shelving returned materials, reading and labeling shelves, and maintaining a neat appearance.
Participates in the inventory process, by counting, shelving, repairing, and collecting and preparing a variety of records and reports.
Maintains the book and video materials collection.
Makes minor repairs to damaged materials.
Assists with book material processing by checking in ordered materials, stamping and covering books and recording information on new materials.
Maintains databases by making additions, corrections and deletions.
Performs related duties as required.
This is a part-time (6.5 paid hours per day, plus 1/2 hr unpaid lunch), one year position.
Salary and benifts according to the collective bargaining agreement.
10 month position - 179 days
