This position provides clerical and technical support to the Imaging Science Department and its faculty. Work requires detailed knowledge of word processing software, and databases.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesCoordinates projects, attends meetings, takes minutes, and prepares reports for the departmentPerforms general office responsibilities including telephone, email, correspondence, filing, mail processing, and room reservations, ordering supplies requestedDirects students and faculty to appropriate resources/departmentsAssists faculty and students with daily workflows, resources, and questionsAssists with new hires for full and adjunct faculty including paperwork and orientation to office related tasksAssists in planning and coordinating events, including visit days, workshops, seminars, graduation events, and others as necessary for the departmentMaintains electronic files for students, faculty, and alumni, as well as databases for guest lecturers, lab assistants, and adjunct instructorsAssists department program director and faculty in completion of accreditation and technical documentsDevelops, edits, and sends communications, mass mailing, web postings, etc.Assist with review of student applications and records, and preparation distribution of acceptance lettersDevelops, edits, and sends communications, mass mailing, and web postingsPerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to operate office technologyWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office, E-Mail, database, and Blackboard functionsAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of the UniversityMaintain a positive, can-do, service-oriented attitude with Department Chair, faculty, and studentsExcellent communication skills written and oralAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks and organize work in a busy office settingAbility to demonstrate creativity and prompt action in resolving problemsAbility to be well organized, detail oriented, accurate, and able to prioritize workAbility to read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructionsKnowledge of office processesAbility to maintain strict confidentiallySupportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)Education & ExperienceA high school diploma or GED requiredA Bachelor's degree is preferredThree to five years of general office experience including an advanced level use of Microsoft Office especially Excel, Access, Word and OutlookPrevious experience working in an academic setting is preferredPhysical Demands/Equipment (Click to View)Compensation & BenefitsThis is a part-time, non-exempt position.
