Job description

Department: Stadium Operations, Security & Parking
Supervisor: Manager, Parking
Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt (Seasonal)
Summary
Parking Lot Attendants are the first Houston Astros employees our fans will see each time they come to Minute Maid Park (MMP). First impressions are lasting ones; therefore, it is imperative that you are courteous, helpful, and efficient at all times. This position includes nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Direct traffic into the parking lot smoothly and efficiently.
  • Direct drivers to the proper designated parking area(s).
  • Verify and confirm each car entering the parking lot has a valid parking pass or pays the parking fee.
  • If collecting a parking fee provide a parking stub to the customer.
  • Responsible for transaction reconciliation of allocated parking passes at close of shift.
  • Report any guests who request special assistance to appropriate chain of command.
  • Remain alert for suspicious behavior occurring in parking areas and report behavior to acting supervisor on duty, Parking Manager and/or on duty law enforcement.
  • Report any parking lot obstructions to appropriate chain of command.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Provide great customer service for the fan experience.
  • Ability to remain professional during difficult interactions engaging supervisor when/if necessary.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.

Work Environment
This job operates in an outdoor and stadium setting. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. This job will be outdoors in varying weather conditions to include extreme heat or cold, storms or other natural weather occurrences. The presence of cover is limited in certain locations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Additionally, specific vision abilities include close and/or focused vision. This is a largely stationary role that could require the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time in varying weather conditions (which sometimes could be extreme).
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is part-time, seasonal position. Must have the ability to ability to work evenings, weekends and possibly holidays.
Travel
Travel is not expected in this role.
