The Opportunity
We're looking for a dynamic Human Resources Manager who is both strategic and hands-on. In this role, you'll be a key partner to leadership, helping to build a thriving workplace culture while ensuring our people practices align with our mission and growth.
You'll lead all aspects of HR - from talent acquisition to employee engagement - while serving as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership alike.
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership & Culture
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Champion a positive and high-performing workplace culture
- Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, organizational development, and change management
Talent & Employee Experience
- Lead full-cycle recruitment to attract mission-aligned talent
- Design and enhance onboarding experiences that set employees up for success
- Develop engagement and retention initiatives that support employee satisfaction

Performance & Development
- Implement and manage performance management systems
- Create training and professional development programs
- Identify growth opportunities that align employee goals with organizational needs
Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures
- Stay current on HR trends, regulations, and best practices
Compensation, Benefits & Administration
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to remain competitive
- Collaborate with brokers to evaluate and manage benefits and insurance plans
- Support payroll processing through accurate documentation
- Manage insurance renewals and related administrative processes
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field ... (or Associate's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience)
- 2+ years of HR experience (more is welcome - we value depth of experience)
- Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment preferred
- HR certification (or willingness to obtain within the first year)

- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically
- High emotional intelligence and cultural competency
- Experience with HR systems (BambooHR is a plus)
