Position Overview
Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.
Sound Equine Veterinary Hospital in Poulsbo, Washington, tight-knit veterinary team works together with our clients to achieve the best possible outcomes for the animals you love. We are Western Puget Sound's only full-service equine hospital. We welcome patients from sport horses to backyard donkeys and farm animals, and over the years have developed a reputation for quality, professional care with a compassionate touch.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
  • Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
  • Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
  • Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
  • Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
  • Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
  • Front office experience is a must
  • Experience in multi-phone line systems
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records
  • Accurate cash handling and cashiering abilities
  • Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting animals up to 50 pounds

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience in a veterinary setting preferred
  • Experience with account's receivable and billing

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm

Pay Range
$19-$21 USD
