Part-Time General Cleaner

We are currently hiring a Part-Time General Cleaner for a facility located in the Fitchburg area of Madison. This position pays $15.25 per hour and follows a Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM schedule.

We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who can work independently after completing training. Previous cleaning experience is preferred. Because the facility is a scientific laboratory, applicants must be able to read and understand English to follow safety and laboratory signage.

Please note: This location is not accessible by bus, so reliable personal transportation is required. Free on-site parking is provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dust desks, cabinet tops, partitions, and other surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Sweep and mop hard-surface floors.
  • Vacuum carpets using upright vacuums and/or backpack vacuums.
  • Spot clean carpets as needed.
  • Clean glass surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, and other restroom fixtures.
  • Restock restroom supplies and maintain overall cleanliness.
  • Polish metal fixtures and fittings.
  • Perform additional cleaning duties or work in different areas as assigned by management or based on customer needs.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications / Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand or walk for the entire shift and frequently bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull while performing cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team when needed.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
