Overview
RET Physical Therapy Specialists, a member of the Confluent Health family, is looking for a Part Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our South Lake Union team!
  • Pay Range: ~$19-23/HR
  • 20 Hours/Week: Mon - Fri (Flexible hours)
  • Location: Seattle, Washington 98109

At Confluent Health and our family of affiliated brands, Care Coordinators are the heartbeat of the clinic They are the first voice a patient hears and the first face they see. You set the tone for the entire patient experience: organized, warm, and professional from the very first call through every visit. This is a fast-paced, multi-tasking role where no two days look the same, and where your ability to stay calm, follow through, and take ownership makes a direct impact on patients and the clinical team.
Responsibilities
  • Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources
  • Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls
  • Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information, creating or updating patient records, and helping patients understand next steps
  • Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments, working waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up with patients who need future visits
  • Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments accurately and professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed
  • Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation

Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
You don't need a healthcare background to be great in this role - but you do need to be someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes ownership of your work. If you've worked in any customer-facing role and want to build a career in healthcare, we want to hear from you.
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role, this could include retail, hospitality, call center, medical reception, or any setting where you regularly interacted with the public in person or over the phone
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and detail-oriented
    • Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone, including handling upset or frustrated callers with patience and professionalism
    • Basic computer proficiency: comfortable learning new systems, navigating scheduling software, sending emails, and working in spreadsheets
    • No prior medical experience required - we provide comprehensive training including EMR navigation, insurance fundamentals, scheduling workflows, and phone etiquette
