The University of Miami's Division of Enrollment Management has an exciting opportunity for a temporary part-time File Reader for Undergraduate Admission - Domestic Applications to work remote.

  • File Reader for Undergraduate Admission - Domestic Applications (Temporary Position)
  • About: The University of Miami is considered a highly selective institution, receiving a high volume of applications (55,000+) per year. Our goal is to work as a team to bring in the most holistically competitive applicants to our campus.
  • Job Responsibilities:The File Reader for Undergraduate Admission will review and prepare undergraduate domestic applications for the Admission Committee. Reading undergraduate applications requires a strong sense of confidentiality. Documents that are reviewed include, but are not limited to, high school transcripts, standardized test scores, recommendations, and English proficiency. Readers re-calculate GPAs for all transcripts.
  • Timeline: This role is expected to begin late August and last until mid-February. As part of the hiring process, please be aware that there are mandatory virtual synchronous trainings.
  • Job Requirements: Successful candidates for this position must demonstrate a profound commitment to upholding confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive data. The ability to work effectively in an environment where discretion is paramount is essential. Competitive candidates for this position would have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and have familiarity with the U.S. system of secondary education. Any appropriate combination of relevant education and/or work experience may be considered. Enrollment Management Readers will be expected to consistently work 20 hours per week, including during holiday weeks.
  • Preferred: Ability to communicate effectively in a remote role. Proficiency with software such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and Box. Strong capability to set your own schedule and maintain weekly targets.
  • Eligibility: Please note that, due to university policies, those currently employed by another post-secondary institution or working at the high school level would not be eligible for this role. Furthermore, eligible candidates would be located in the US.
  • Hourly pay: $17/hr
