DESCRIPTION
The Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller serves Leon County residents by supporting court operations, processing and recording judicial orders, and safeguarding public records and funds.

Starting Salary Notice:
Initial appointments are typically made at or near the minimum of the approved pay range, consistent with budget authorization and internal equity.
Position Overview:
The Clerk Services Assistant (Part-Time) performs clerical, customer service, and operational support functions across Clerk service areas. The position supports document processing, records workflows, customer service operations, and general administrative activities in accordance with established procedures.
Assignments are based on operational need. Not all employees perform all functions at all times or concurrently. The Clerk Services Assistant may be assigned responsibilities across service areas or operational initiatives as needed to support organizational priorities and workforce deployment needs.
ESSENTIAL ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
Clerical & Administrative Support
Performs data entry, document preparation, scanning, filing, indexing, and workflow support tasks.
Court & Records SupportAssists with courtroom or records-related activities as assigned, including preparation of materials and documentation support.
Customer Service SupportProvides general assistance to customers and supports basic service requests within assigned scope.
Operational SupportAssists with scheduling, materials preparation, and workflow continuity as needed.
Trial Clerk
Prepares for and attends trials, enters all appropriate information on forms, takes minutes, marks and controls evidence, swears in witnesses, manages jury panel attendance, and performs other courtroom duties as required.

Ability to perform clerical and administrative tasks accurately

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
High school diploma or GED.
Required Experience
Experience performing clerical, administrative support, customer service, or records-related work. Equivalent combinations may be considered.
Required Licensure or Certification
None required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENTS
Work is performed in an office or courtroom environments and may involve prolonged sitting, standing, and handling files or materials up to approximately 20 - 25 pounds. The employee may interact with defendants, victims, witnesses, attorneys, jurors, and members of the public who may be emotional, upset, or confrontational. Work may involve exposure to sensitive or disturbing information presented during court proceedings, including testimony, recordings, photographs, or physical evidence. The position may require schedule flexibility to support operational coverage during periods of increased workload or special operational needs.
