Job Description

As an Environmental Technician I, you’ll support environmental investigation and remediation projects across the Pittsburgh area. This is a field-focused role where you’ll collect environmental samples, document site conditions, and help ensure projects meet regulatory and safety standards.

You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on exposure to environmental fieldwork while contributing to meaningful projects that protect natural resources and communities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform field sampling of groundwater, soil, surface water, sediment, and air

  • Support drilling and monitoring activities, including soil borings and well installation

  • Collect, record, and manage environmental data accurately and safely

  • Operate field equipment and assist with maintenance of remediation systems

  • Assist with mapping and field documentation using GPS and related tools

  • Support preparation of field reports and data summaries for project teams

You’ll thrive here if you have

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, biology, chemistry, or related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant field or internship experience

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites (including overnight travel)

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and navigate active job sites

  • Strong attention to detail when collecting and documenting data

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with GIS tools is a plus
